Installation

Installing the phraSEarch$™ program:

$ Open the install program, Install_phraSEarch.exe.

$ We recommend that you install Phrasearch, along with its sub-directories, to your C:\ drive.

$ If your preferred way to start a program is to double-click an icon on your computer’s desktop, you may create one by checking the appropriate box during installation. This will place the on your Desktop. Otherwise, after installation, you can right-click the filename C:\Phrasearch\SEARCH.exe, select “Send To,” and click “Desktop (Create a Shortcut).”

The following files are important for running phraSEarch$™:

$ C:\Phrasearch\SEARCH.exe — This is the executable. You can start the program by double clicking this file. However, if your preferred way to start the program is to double-click an icon on your computer’s desktop, then, follow the installation instructions, above.

$ C:\Phrasearch\SEARCH.TXT — This file keeps a copy of the search and file creation parameters.

$ C:\Phrasearch\SEARCH.w3 — The actual workspace of code that is run by the program SEARCH.exe. This is the file that you will replace when receiving updates or new releases.

$ C:\Phrasearch\Phrasearch.INI — The program’s configuration file. If a browser cannot be found by the program, you may change the path to your browser in this file.

$ C:\Phrasearch\SEARCH.adf — The program’s Windows API configuration file.

$ C:\Phrasearch\SearchParms\SEARCH_xxx — The historical SEARCH.TXT parameter files, where xxx is user defined.

$ C:\Phrasearch\Topical\ — A handy directory for receiving output files.

$ C:\Phrasearch\Topical\xxx.htm — The output files, where xxx is user defined.

$ \Phrasearch\Help\phraSEarch_utility.htm — This documentation file.

$ \Phrasearch\Help\phraSEarch_Utility_Install_Notes.htm — Installation Notes.

$ \Phrasearch\Help\phraSEarch_Tips.htm — User Productivity Tips.

$ \Phrasearch\Help\phraSEarch_Utility_User_Guide.doc — phraSEarch$™ User Guide.

$ \Phrasearch\Help\Description.html — phraSEarch$™ General Information.

Starting the phraSEarch$™ program:

$ Start the phraSEarch$™ program by either double-clicking the icon on your computer’s desktop (placed there at installation) or double-clicking the filename C:\Phrasearch\SEARCH.exe.

$ The phraSEarch$™ form will appear, as follows (containing different arguments):
